CLASSES

WE OFFER A VARIETY OF GROUP CLASSES FOR EVERY LEVEL, INCLUDING YOGA, CARDIO, PILATES, ZUMBA AND MORE.  WHETHER YOU ARE A BEGINNER OR ADVANCED, WE HAVE THE PERFECT CLASS FOR YOU. OUR INSTRUCTORS ARE THE BEST AND MOST POPULAR IN THE UPPER WEST SIDE WITH MANY YEARS OF EXPERIENCE, AND OUR SPACIOUS, SUN-DRENCHED STUDIO OFFERS AN INSPIRING BACKDROP FOR YOUR WORKOUT. 

 

CLASSDESCRIPTIONS

​

barre: ballet-inspired isometric toning moves alternate with stretching to create long, lean muscles

​

barre/pilates fusion: mixes both barre and pilates classes

​​

power barre: a barre class (ballet-inspired isometric toning moves) with added weights for strength training

​​​

circuit training: body conditioning that involves endurance training, resistance training, high-intensity aerobics, and exercises performed in a circuit, similar to high-intensity interval training.

​

cross training: a mixed method strength and stamina class for the aspiring athlete. cross fit, bodybuilding and martial arts methods are utilized to name a few.

​

functional training:  utilizes both dumbbells and your own body weight. This class targets power, endurance, mobility and stability using an athlete proven methodology.

​

calisthenics:  a type of workout that uses your body weight with little or now equipment. Examples of calisthenics include pushups, squats, crunches, planks, burpees, and lunges

 

just dance: a fun and easy dance class for all ages, while dancing your body's way!  taught by Marina thursdays 11am & Yvonne tuesdays 9 am.  The class includes all genres of dance and music.  Come! dance your heart out.  you can't get it wrong!

​

pilates: a series of strengthening, lengthening and stretching exercises designed to improve posture, flexibility, core strength, mobility and overall muscle tone

​​

power sculpt: a 45 minute, music-fueled fitness experience that combines strength, endurance, and rhythm to tone and sculpt your entire body.

​

pure strength: physical exercises designed to enhance strength and endurance with use of dumbbells

​

tai chi: an internally-focused chinese martial art incorporating deep breathing and slow movements

​

tabata: a form of HIIT involving 20 seconds of intense exercises followed by 10 seconds of rest.  One set is repeated 8 times for a total of 4 minutes.  Every 4 minutes a new set is introduced.  This class is 45 minutes.

 

ultimate conditioning: build strength, endurance, agility, and increased range of motion via plyometrics, core, and flexibility work utilizing various modes of equipment and bodyweight exercises; maximize your individual results with a workout that targets the core and every major muscle group.

yoga:

​

iyengar - practice of precision by focusing on posture and anatomical details 

gentle yoga: a gentler style of hatha yoga practice.  

power vinyasa flow: characterized by a series of flowing poses and sequences linked to the breath.

zumba:  a total workout, combining all elements of fitness – cardio, muscle conditioning, balance and flexibility, boosted energy and a serious dose of awesome each time you leave class.
